MANDATORY CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT (CPD) MODULE

The Australian Border Force (ABF) have advised under the updated Australian Customs Notice No. 2023/23 that the mandatory CPD module is now available for completion.

ALL licensed customs brokers must complete this mandatory module by 31 March 2024

The Australian Peak Shippers Association (APSA) is the designated peak shipper body granted status by the Federal Minister for Infrastructure and Transport under Part X of the Consumer & Competition Act to represent the interests of Australian shippers generally in relation to liner cargo shipping services. The following notice has been received and is available to members' reference.

• 23 JANUARY 2024 : PART X: Notice of the Happening of an Affecting Event - Kiwi Express Service Inwards and Outwards service 

As reported in the DCN, SWIRE Projects has introduced a service connecting Western Australia with ports in Asia. The service will call major ports in WA (including in the Pilbara), China, South Korea, Japan, Singapore and around South East Asia. READ MORE

Distribution has commenced for past international Terminal Service Fees. Invoices will be distributed via email to the normal recipients for invoices as follows:

From 10 Jan 2024, covering the period of 24 to 30 Sep 2023

From 16 Jan 2024, covering the period of 1 to 7 Oct 2023.

All remaining outstanding invoices will be distributed in the coming weeks and we'll keep you updated on when they're available.

Air France-KLM and CMA CGM end capacity partnership

Air France KLM Group and CMA CGM have decided to end their cargo capacity partnership due to the constraints of a "tight regulatory environment" but are already in talks about a new working relationship.

First announced in May 2022, the capacity partnership between the two carriers was launched in April 2023 and was due to initially run for 10 years. READ MORE
